About the Journal

Pattola Syara: Journal of Fatwa and Socio-Religious Studies is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal managed and published by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of Parepare City in collaboration with the El Haq Publication Center. The journal provides a scholarly platform for the study of fatwas (Islamic legal rulings) and socio-religious dynamics in relation to social transformation, legal reform, and contemporary global challenges. The journal is dedicated to promoting critical, analytical, and interdisciplinary research that bridges classical Islamic legal traditions with modern social realities.

Pattola Syara publishes high-quality original research articles, conceptual studies, and critical analyses that examine fatwas and socio-religious issues within diverse contexts. These contexts include social justice, human rights, gender issues, economic systems, public policy, and everyday religious life. The journal encourages contributions that explore both the normative and empirical dimensions of fatwa studies and religious practices, as well as comparative and transnational perspectives.

The journal is published biannually (in June and December) and welcomes submissions from scholars, researchers, religious practitioners, and policymakers from around the world. All manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure academic integrity, originality, and scholarly contribution.

As an open-access journal, Pattola Syara Journal of Fatwa and Socio-Religious Studies is committed to the free dissemination of knowledge. It aims to support the advancement of socio-religious and fatwa scholarship that is responsive to societal change and global development
